What are surface conditioning belts used for?

Nonwoven surface conditioning belts are used to blend everything to a satin finish, usually after stock removal and bevel grinding. This allows one to smooth everything out and clean out any remaining scratch lines. These belts to last a very long time so this kit will usually keep one occupied until they find which surface conditioning belts tend to be their most heavily used. We recommend most stock, in the long run, more of the medium (maroon) and fine (blue) surface conditioning belts. Those are the most popular belts used, however many find a coarser and very fine belt have their uses on softer or hardened steel.
